'Martu Determination Area' means the land and waters over which the Martu People were determined to hold native title rights and interests in the Martu Determinations. 'Plant Site' means the processing plant (located at 416,819mE, 7595,980mN (MGA94Z51)) at the Telfer Gold Mine Project, as depicted on the map. 'Project Area' means the area within a 60 kilometre radius from the Plant Site, together with the Infrastructure Corridor, to the extent that such land falls within the Martu Determination Area and as delineated as the 'Project Area' on the map. 'Telfer Gold Mine Project' means the gold mining operations undertaken by Newcrest at Telfer, Western Australia, currently comprising open pit and underground mines, associated mineral processing and tailings storage facilities and related exploration activities.
Legal Status: Registered with the National Native Title Tribunal on the Register of Indigenous Land Use Agreements on 4 December 2015. This is an authorised Body Corporate Agreement under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth).

Details of the Agreement: The ILUA is located in the Shire of East Pilbara. It is located covers about 11,150 sq km, approx. 60km radius from Telfer Mine Site and generally north-west along Telfer Access Road towards Gregory Range.

Commencement The ILUA commenced on 4 December 2015.

Native Title Provisions
The ILUA does have statements that reference subsection 24EB(1) or 24EBA(1) or (4) of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth).

Background to the Agreement: The ILUA allows access to the land for infrastructure and mining.

Native Title in the ILUA Area
The land which the ILUA is subject to is part of the Marta Determination Area. The 'Martu Determination Area' means the land and waters over which the Martu People were determined to hold native title rights and interests in the Martu Determinations.
