Details of the Agreement: The ILUA is located in the Aurukun Shire Council. The Agreement Area is located approximately 38 km northeast of Aurukun. The Area consists of a 27km long, generally 4 metre wide corridor and covers approximately 0.11 sq km. Commencement: The ILUA commenced on 21 April 2016. Native Title Provisions: The ILUA does have statements that reference subsection 24EB(1) or 24EBA(1) or (4) of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth). Background to the Agreement: The ILUA is primarily in relation to access to the land for the body corporate. Native Title in the ILUA Area: The ILUA is in the native title claim area which includes the land and waters subject to the Federal Court determination Wik and Wik Way Native Title Claim Group v State of Queensland (QUD6029/2001).
