The Wandoan and Taroom Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) was agreed between the State of Queensland, the Minister of Economic Development Queensland and the Iman #2 People. The purpose of the ILUA is to provide consent for a range of acts, whether or not they are 'future acts' regarding the access to and use of extinguishment and tenure of the land. The agreement area is within the external boundary of the claim area for the Iman #2 People. | ||

Details of the Agreement: The ILUA is located in the Banana Shire Council and Western Downs Regional Council. The agreement area covers various lots with the town sites of Wandoan (7 lots) and Taroom (2 lots). Commencement: The ILUA commenced on 18 May 2016. Native Title Provisions: The ILUA does have statements that reference subsection 24EB(1) or 24EBA(1) or (4) of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth). Background to the Agreement: The ILUA allows for the extinguishment and tenure of the land. Native Title in the ILUA Area: The ILUA is in the native title claim area of the Iman people. This was through the case of Doyle on behalf of the Iman People #2 v State of Queensland (QUD6162/1998). |
