The Ngaanyatjarra Land Council is the Native Title Representative Body for the Central Desert region. It was established in 1981 with the assistance of the Pitjantjatjara Council. The Ngaanyatjarra Council had access to Pitjantjatjara Council staff such as lawyers, anthropologists, accountants and technical, horticultural and engineering staff until it was in a position to engage its own staff. It is presently the umbrella organisation for 11 communities and a range of Aboriginal organisations. |
