Jemena owns and operates a number of energy services, such as electricity and gas. The Jemena Northern Gas Pipeline Pty Ltd was approved under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth) as the approval holder for the construction and operation of the Jemena Northern Gas Pipeline on 9 March 2017. The Northern Gas Pipeline project involves the construction of a new underground natural gas transmission pipeline which is approximately 622km long (Jemena Limited, 2018/19 Annual Compliance Report, p. 6).
