Summary Information:

The Barkly Shire Regional Council was created on 1 July 2008 along with ten other regional super local government areas by the Northern Territory Government. The role of the Council is to provide services to the townships of Elliot and Tennat Creek and the communities of Ali Curung, Alpuurrurulam, Ampilatwatja, Arlparra and Wutunugurra.
