Detailed Information:

An act to recognise that Australia was first occupied by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and that they have continuing relationships with their traditional lands and waters. Further, the Australian Parliament respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' continuing cultures, languages, and heritage, and will undertake a review of support for a referendum to amend the Australian Constitution.

This Act was set to be repealed in 2015 but was extended until 2018 by the enactment of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Recognition (Sunset Extension Act) Act 2015 (Cth).
