The Walsh River Respondents were a party to the Kynuna on behalf of the Bar Barrum People #5 v State of Queensland. The group was made up of 20 individuals. They brought a challenge to Bar Barrum #5 Applicant's application for a consent determination on an area of land spanning 71.3462 square kilometres, in the Tablelands Region of Far North Queensland. The case began on 28 September 2001, and an agreement between the Walsh River Respondents and the Bar Barrum People to the Native Title Rights of the determination area, under s 225(c) of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth), was reached on 25 November 2016. |
