The Mutitjulu community is located at Uluru, 450km south west of Alice Springs. The Mutitjulu community is regarded as a model by other Aboriginal communities for their program of providing work opportunities for people with disabilities in isolated areas.
The Community Council worked with local government, government departments and other stakeholders to build practical relationships in order to deal with community issues of welfare dependence, substance abuse, domestic violence and education.
In 2008, the MacDonnell Shire began delivering core services to the community. However, in August 2010, these services were withdrawn. |
