    The Bilateral Agreement for the Provision and Management of Housing and Related Infrastructure for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People of the Northern Territory ('the Agreement') was signed on 30 June 1995. It was the first Indigenous housing bilateral agreement negotiated and signed by a state or territory in Australia.

    The Agreement established the Indigenous Housing Authority of the Northern Territory (IHANT) as the peak body for Indigenous housing in the Northern Territory (IHANT 2000).
