Summary Information:

The purpose of the Transport Operations (Marine Pollution) Act 1995 (Qld) is to protect Queensland's marine and coastal environment by minimising deliberate and negligent discharges of ship-sources pollutants into coastal waters.This act aims to do this by giving effect to certain provisions of MARPOL which is the International Convention of the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973 (s3).
