Summary Information:
The object of this Act is to give effect to an agreement made between the Commonwealth of Australia and Queensland to facilitate the implementation of Australia's international duty for the protection and conservation, presentation, rehabilitation and transmission to future generations of the Wet Tropics of Queensland World Heritage Area.

The Act notes in sections 5 and 6 there must be an Aboriginal representation on the Wet Tropics Management Authority (the Authority) and that any advisory committee established under the Authority must include Aboriginal representatives with knowledge in protection of cultural and natural heritage.
