The Integrated Planning Act 1997(Qld) is 'an Act for a framework to integrate planning and development assessment so that development and its effects are managed in a way that is ecologically sustainable, and for related purposes' (long title). The purpose of the Act is to achieve ecological sustainability by: coordinating and integrating planning at local, regional and State levels; managing the development process; and managing the effects of development on the environment (see s 1.2.1). |
