Summary Information:
The Aboriginal Recognition Working Group was initiated in June 1996 in the City of Whitehorse. It includes representation from the cities of Whitehorse, Nillumbik, Banyule and Manningham, from the community, the Wurundjeri community, the Municipal Association of Victoria and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission Regional Council. The Working Group met over a period of six months to develop a commitment statement to Indigenous people.
