Summary Information:
The Western Arctic (Inuvialuit) Claims Settlement Act approves, gives effect to and declares valid the Inuvialuit Final Agreement (IFA). The Act extinguishes the native title rights, claims, title and interests of all Inuvialuit and replaces them with the rights, privileges and benefits set out in the IFA. The Act also authorises the payment of funds to the Inuvialuit to fulfil the IFA and the making of regulations necessary for the IFA.
