According to s 3 of the Habors and Navigation Act 1993 (SA) the objects of this Act include: - to provide for the efficient and effective administration and management of South Australian habors and facilities for the purpose of maximising their use and promoting trade; and
- to ensure that efficient and reliable cargo transfer facilities are established and maintained; and
- to promote the safe, orderly and efficient movement of shipping within harbours.
