Western Mining Corporation (WMC) Resources Ltd is a major diversified resources company listed in Australia and the United States.
WMC was originally part of a gold exploration company, chartered in the United Kingdom, but operating in Western Australia in the 1930s. WMC emerged as an independent company out of Gold Mines of Australia when the spread of operations increased. In the 1950s, WMC began to prospect for other metals and has become dominant in the mining sectors of copper and uranium. The company currently has six product operations including: nickel, gold, alumina and aluminium, copper-uranium, petroleum and fertilizer and industrial minerals.
WMC employs nearly five thousand people in its operations worldwide. |
