    Tarong Energy is a corporation owned by the Queensland Government which supplies approximately 25% of Queensland's electricity supply. It owns and operates Tarong Power Station and Wivenhoe Power Station, and is part owner of the Tarong North Power Station. In 2007 Tarong Energy purchased Meandu Mine from Rio Tinto Coal Australia, and it eventually plans to replace Meandu Mine with a new mine at Kunioon (see "Fuel Supply" 2008).
