The Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) was formerly known as the Department of Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FACSIA).
FaHCSIA is the Australian Government's principal source of advice on social policy. Through its Office for Indigenous Policy Coordination, it is responsible for coordinating 'government approach to programs and services for Indigenous Australians, and has a central role in the Australian Government's arrangements in Indigenous Affairs.'
