    The Malabam Health Board Aboriginal Corporation was incorporated in 1998 pursuant to the Aboriginal Councils and Associations Act 1976 (Cth) as the Maningrida Health Board Aboriginal Corporation, and changed names in 2002 (ORAC Website, January 2007).

    'Malabam Health Board provides advocacy, policy and administrative support to health organisations in the community and surrounding outstations. It also provides comprehensive primary health and substance use services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the area' (Indigenous Governance Awards Website, January 2007).
