The Asburton Aboriginal Corporation was incorporated under the Aboriginal Councils and Associations Act 1976 (Cth) on 2 June 2000. According to the Corporation's rules, the objects of the organisation are

'to provide direct relief from poverty, sickness, suffering, destitution, misfortune and homelessness to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of the Asburton Shire Area of Western Australia without discrimination and to include, but without limiting the generality of the above, the following ... services, programs and undertakings for the relief of unemployment; help and encourage its members to keep and renew their traditional culture; [and] to assist in the provision of care and support of its members in all ways.'
