    The Department of Business, Industry and Resource Development (DBIRD), in partnership with business and industry, supports economic development in the Northern Territory and sustainable and responsible management of resources across the Territory's regions. DBIRD manages programs to develop the minerals, petroleum, pastoral, agriculture, horticulture, fishing, manufacturing and services sectors. Its programs also assist individual businesses to grow and improve. In addition to a wide range of research and industry support programs, the Department also provides financial support to several industry organisations in the Territory.
