    Summary Information:
    The Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA) was formed on 6 December 2001. The Association replaces the West Australian Municipal Association, the Country Shire Council's Association, the Country Urban Council's Association and the Local Government Association (metropolitan councils). It represents all of the 142 Local Councils in Western Australia plus Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands.
    WALGA will provide services to all Member Councils, including policy and advocacy advice, taxation advice, workplace relations, training and development opportunities, and much more.
